Welcome to Your 2020 Burnout Recovery Plan

Burnout may read like a new buzzword, but it’s real. And you, and only you, have the opportunity to create powerful changes that will make 2020 exactly how you desire it to be – burnout free.

Every Monday of 2020, we at Denver Deep will be posting on Instagram on how to prevent and recover from various forms of burnout.

You work hard, AND you play hard – that’s how many of us live life today.

Living life supercharged can be super draining, and when you are running low on high- performance fuel, so is your body and mind’s ability to adequately recover, focus, be decisive, and perform.

You can change this.

It starts with making bold moves in your personal self-care. Self-care is never a selfish act; self-care is having good stewardship of your life. When you get to the point of not knowing what to do with your own pain, chronic suffering, and negative stressors, it is easy to allow pathways to burnout swallow you.

In different areas of your life, you may be pushing hard to meet deadlines, demands, and goals. While the contributing factors may be outside of your control, such as clients and family, when you don’t take the time to replenish what you extend, chronic fatigue, inflammation, and an overall feeling of staleness towards life can surface.

A recent Gallup study of nearly 7,500 full-time employees found that 23% of employees reported feeling burned out at work very often or always, while an additional 44% reported feeling burned out. That’s almost 50% of the full-time workforce experiencing some form of burnout – and that study doesn’t even include other facets of living that also contribute to one’s overall health and wellness.

Often, we feel lost without a plan, guilty for slouching, frustrated for not completing all of our workouts, and regret leaving items on our to-do lists. We are not built for unrelenting stressors, and in one way or another, there is a cost to overdoing it. When you prioritize self-care, you replenish yourself and make the space for recovery.

It’s in that space of filling your own cup first that your vitality is restored. You deserve that.

2020 can become your biggest, boldest, and “DEEP”est lived year as of yet. Make self-care your superpower.
